adidas just announced that they inked top Chicago Cubs prospect, Kris Bryant, to a endorsement contract. Bryant was drafted #2 overall in the 2013 MLB Draft by the Cubs and is expected to be their third-baseman when the season starts. Bryant led the nation in home runs last year while earning the Golden Spikes Award, Dick Howser Trophy and first team All-American honors.

“I’ve always liked adidas shoes, but didn’t get the chance to wear their cleats in college,” said Bryant.  “When I had the chance to try out adidas again recently, I loved them.  I even got a sneak peek of what’s to come later this year and it’s awesome.  adidas is doing stuff I’ve never seen in baseball cleats and it’s going to change the game."

Bryant joins adidas' growing list of young baseball prospect including Justin and BJ Upton of the Atlanta Braves, Chase Utley of the Philadelphia Phillies, Coco Crisp of the Oakland Athletics, Jayson Werth of the Washington Nationals and Homer Bailey of the Cincinnati Reds, as well as others.

Keep an eye out for Bryant on the diamond this year, when he'll most likely be outfitted with adidas' adi-zero 5-Tool 2.5, the lightest midcut spike available in baseball.
