Fila Releases Limited Edition Colorway of the Original Tennis for the 2014 Sony Open

Fila’s root in tennis sneakers and apparel goes back to the 1970′s when they decided to expand into the sportswear and inked a deal with tennis superstar Björn Borg. With Borg as the face of Fila, the brand grew recognition and popularity over the years and eventually grew them into one of the most trusted sportswear retailers on the market.

This year, Fila is the official supplier of the Sony Open in Miami, Florida. In honor of the event, Fila is releasing a limited edition model of the brand’s classic silhouette featuring the event’s official colors of white, orange and royal blue. The shoe is constructed of ballistic nylon and leather and features the Sony Open logo across the heel and a tennis ball inspired sock liner. The shoes and apparel will be worn by officials and lines people during the Sony Open when it kicks off this week.

The Fila Original Tennis Sony Open shoe is extremely limited but currently available at Fila.com for $90.
