ufc deal

Rumor has it that the UFC is currently in talks with an unnamed clothing brand to bring an exclusive uniform deal to the MMA circuit.

If a deal were to be struck, it would mean that all fighters would get similar apparel from the same outfitter to wear in the cage for their matches, which would then eliminate the current sponsor system.

Mike Mossholder, the UFC's senior vice president of global marketing partnerships, told AdWeek that the company is "actively engaged" with a "premium apparel line" for an exclusive deal to outfit the athletes.

Historically, the UFC has allowed athletes to broker their owns deals for gear worn inside the ring but this potential deal would alter that. Nike currently pays the NFL $1.1 billion to outfit the teams in Nike apparel, meaning a large pay day could be in store for the UFC.

With Mossholder's news, its now obviously time to speculate as to who the unidentified apparel line is. Nike has previously been prohibited by the UFC to be worn in the cage, while adidas and Under Armour both have endorsement deals in place with fighters already.
