Tinker started at Nike in 1981 after Bill Bowerman scooped him up after completing his studies in architecture. Taking us behind the scenes of the Innovation Kitchen at Nike HQ in Beaverton, Oregon, Tinker talks about the important contribution his architectural and automotive interests impacted his early career as a footwear designer at then quickly growing brand.

More than just a shoe, Tinker's designs blend performance criteria with athlete's issues and the science behind the product.

Watch the below for a teaser that glimpses at the original Air Max, the AJ XX8 and the Air Mags and tune in 10/9c on the Esquire Network for the latest episode of How I Rock It.
