The race for the MVP trophy in the NBA has been an underrated aspect of this year. Once again, LeBron James and Kevin Durant have turned this race into a two-man race. Durant has done his part by averaging a league-high 31.5 PPG on 51 percent from the field, 7.8 RPG, and 5.5 APG for the Oklahoma City Thunder. OKC is a league best 43-12 and is one of just a few expected contenders for the championship. One of the easier games for the Thunder this season was the team's defeat of the Houston Rockets. In a 31-point blowout, Durant showed off his ability to affect the game in different ways. He managed 13 rebounds to go along with 33 points as the game was practically decided after the third quarter in their post-christmas schedule.

Oklahoma City has had Minnesota's number this season after suffering an embarrassing early season loss to the Wolves. The Thunder won a close game with Durant taking center stage with 48 points for Oklahoma City along with 7 rebounds and 7 assists as the Thunder managed to eke out a close win over Minnesota.

This game was over before it even started. Even though Kevin Durant's streak of 12-straight 30 point games ended his Thunder got an easy W that allowed him to relax after the Nets handled Brooklyn in a 120-95 victory.

In what was billed as a big time matchup between LeBron James and Kevin Durant, KD remained supreme with his Oklahoma City Thunder pulling away from the Miami Heat for a 17-point victory. Durant scored on James multiple times ad finished with an impressive 33 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists to win the game for OKC.

The Houston Rockets thought that they had the Oklahoma City Thunder under wraps with a 73-59 lead. Durant and his team thought otherwise by handling the Rockets on defense by holding Houston to just 19 points in the second half. Durant finished with a healthy 36 points including a great dunk on a cut that had Dwight Howard shook.

The Golden State Warriors didn't know what hit them when the Thunder defeated them on a Friday night earlier this season. Durant scored a career-high 54 points knocking down contested jump shots with ease and making Warriors defenders look helpless. The best part of this has to be the shooting efficieny with Durant shooting a smooth 19-28 which is hard to do when scoring so many points.

It's been a tough season for the New York Knicks, and the Thunder took advantage of it. Coming into MSG on Christmas was no sweat for OKC who faced a Knicks squad without their star forward Carmelo Anthony. Durant was featured heavily in this game with 29 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists as OKC ran away to a 123-94 victory.

The stretch of 30 points scored in an All-Star Game continued for Kevin Durant who had 38 points in the West's loss to the East in the All-Star Game. Durant stretched his streak of at least 30 to four consecutive years an had multiple exciting finishes including this nice lob from the Warriors's Stephen Curry.

Facing a double team, Kevin Durant stepped up his game and hit a pull-up jumper to defeat the Atlanta Hawks at the buzzer. Durant had 41 points and 5 assists as his team barely edged out the visiting Hawks by just two points.
