Hardcore training is all the rage these days in the fitness and training world and many athletes take their devotion to extreme levels. The thrill of meeting and exceeding goals, making visible progress, and pushing oneself to limits that were once inconceivable can be an enjoyable and at times, addicting experience. Then there's the athletes who take it one step further and permanently ink an inspired tattoo on their body. There's no question that tattoos are extremely popular in the gym world, but what happens when the ink is actually training related?

Sometimes, the work is well done, and subtle enough that it's not going to raise many eyebrows. However, more often than not, these tattoos are either poorly scribed, sloppily drawn, gaudy, or just downright corny. We're not saying tattoos are off limits—if you're that passionate about it, then by all means, do your thing. But definitely take a look at this gallery of The 25 Worst Training-Inspired Tattoos before you confirm that appointment.
