The North Face Spring 2014

The North Face Releases Mountain Athletics Training Program and Apparel Collection

Now that the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics are over, it looks like The North Face is re-shifting its focus back on the everyday consumer. Today, the brand officially launched a digital training platform to coincide with its all-new Mountain Athletics training apparel and footwear collection.

The North Face’s Mountain Athletics Training Program, which is a result of a collaboration with Jackson, Wyoming-based gym Mountain Athlete, is designed to help average athletes and weekend warriors establish a goal within three different outdoor disciplines: running, climbing and skiing. Based on a six week timeline, athletes will get a playlist of instructional videos led by The North Face athlete team members along with a downloadable training plan that will help them accomplish their respective goals.

“One of the insights we got from our athlete team is that when they’re training for an outdoor pursuit, whether racing 100 miles or climbing Mt. Everest, they’re spending more time training their bodies for those few hours of excellence than they actually spend doing their sport,” said The North Face President Todd Spaletto. “Now we’re able to offer the same level of training that our Global Athlete Team members are using to prepare for their expeditions in the world’s most extreme environments to all outdoor athletes.”

As mentioned previously, the training program will be in conjunction with The North Face Mountain Athletics apparel collection. Available now, the collection features all the gear athletes will need to push their limits in the great outdoors.

TNF was kind enough to send Sneaker Report some samples from the collection. We’ll have a full breakdown for you in the coming days. Stay tuned!
