adidas Outdoor SS14 Footwear Preview

This time each year, adidas Outdoor unveils its footwear offerings for the following year, and each time, it seems to be more impressive than the last. This year, it’s not different.

With something for everyone, the adidas Outdoor Spring 2014 collection covers all of your outdoor footwear needs—from the water all the way to the mountaintop. Leading the way is the Terrex Solo Stealth approach shoe, which takes the approach category to a whole new level with the introduction of the legendary Stealth Rubber sole for unmatched grip.

adidas is also set to introduce some updates to its hiker collection, including the new and improved AX 2 (available in both a low and mid-top version), as well as the Terrex Fast R and Terrex Fast X series. Much of the technology under the hood stays the same, including a Traxion outsole and Adiprene+ in the forefoot, though the latest versions of the hiking boots have been tweaked visually, including new colorways.

This fall, and moving into next year, adidas will also expand on its Climacool Boat shoes, which have quickly gained popularity throughout the outdoor footwear industry. In total, there will be six new additions to the Climacool Boat series, including the Boat Lace DLX, Climacool Boat Breeze, and the Climacool Boat Flip.

If you’re looking for even more cushioning and protection in the water, not to worry—adidas has you covered for that too. Along with updates to the Jawpaw and Hydroterra Shandal water shoes, the Three Stripes’ outdoor division will introduce the Hydroclaw model. Inspired by kayak expeditions, the Hydrowclaw features a quick-dry, side drainage system and abrasion-resistant closed mesh upper for ultimate comfort. The shoe also features a Continental rubber outsole with Traxion for sound footing on rocky and wet surfaces.

There’s plenty more to come on the adidas Outdoor Spring 2014, including a preview of the brand’s climbing apparel collection.
