Although Lionel Messi probably had a rough couple weeks following Argentina's loss to Germany at the 2014 World Cup, Messi still proved he was the best player in the tournament, as he was awarded the Golden Ball. adidas is paying homage to the achievement by debuting this special version of his signature adizero F50 cleat.

Messi's signature adizero F50 combines revolutionary technology with precision engineering to give the four time Ballon d'Or winner the highest level of performance. Weighing in at just 5.3oz the adizero F50 is one of the lightest boots in the game, and offers a high level of touch and feel to the ball. The new version of the boots comes in a solar gold and black colorway to represent the Golden Ball, and features Messi's manta printed on the upper, and the words "mas que un botin” (more than a boot) are on the insole. Messi will debut the boots in La Liga this season, and is also scheduled to bring out an alternate colorway for the UEFA Champions League matches.
