Very few basketball footwear lines are able to match the year-to-year progression of the Air Jordan Legacy series. Each year, the team of designers seem to push the boundaries farther as they explore new possibilities and technologies. But no matter how advanced and teched-out things become, some of the older styles continue to be popular as performance choices. This is ultimately a testament to just how ahead of their time each model is upon its release.

Take for instance the Air Jordan XII. It's always a popular retro release, whether consumers are picking them up for the courts or the streets. The full-length Zoom Air and Carbon Fiber midfoot shank (both traits carried over and improved upon from the Jordan XI) are ideal for mid-sized ballers such as shooting guards and small forwards, but the sneakers are versatile enough to be used at any position. Their subtle and classic styling also remains a great option with jeans.

And best of all? This winter, Jordan Brand will be re-releasing the classic "Taxi" colorway. Jordan himself wore these during some of his biggest moments, so you know they'll sell out quickly. A release date has yet to be established, but if Holiday releases of years past are any indicator, these are a likely Black Friday or mid-December launch. You can expect a $160 box tag.
