A few weeks back, rumors surfaced that Andy Murray would be leaving his longtime deal with adidas to pursue new sponsorship opportunities. It didn't take long for Murray to make up his mind, as he is now the new face of Under Armour's tennis campaign.

As reported by Sportsmail, Murray inked a 4-year deal with Under Armour, and will debut his kit with the brand for the first time against Feliciano Lopez in the Mubadala World Tennis Championship exhibition event in Abu Dhabi. The addition of Murray will certainly bolster up Under Armour's credibility in the tennis market, and joins emerging American star Sloane Stephens and veteran US journeyman Robby Ginepri on their roster.

When asked about the deal, Murray said, "I am very honoured and excited to be joining Team Under Armour and to help them tell their story globally. They are committed to providing innovative apparel, accessories, and footwear, with an unmatched focus on training and performance."

The biggest question for us at Sneaker Report, which shoes will Murray lace up when he hits the court? Murray signed a lucrative 5-year deal with adidas back in 2009, and has been wearing the adidas Barricade shoes almost religiously. Reports are saying that Murray will continue to wear his coveted Barricades up until Under Armour has footwear developed specifically for him, which is estimated to take about six months.

Exact details on the value of the deal have yet to surface, but the signing of Murray should push Under Armour into the category of viable options for tennis stars in the future.
