Asics has always been committed to pushing athletes to the peak of their performance by offering the highest quality apparel and footwear. In just one month from now, Asics is taking that model to a whole new level with the "Race the Sun" ultimate trail challenge that is unlike anything ever attempted.

On June 21, the summer solstice hits, marking the longest day of the year. On that day, Asics will send out two relay teams comprised of the best trail runner's in the world to attempt a record breaking challenge that will be a world's first. "Race the Sun" is the ultimate test of athlete vs. nature, as the two relay teams start at sunrise and race against the clock with exactly 15 hours, 41 minutes and 35 seconds to run around Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in Western Europe—all before the sun sets.

The challenge starts in Chamonix, France and traverses 166 grueling kilometers of rugged mountainous terrain that passes through three countries: France, Italy and Switzlerland. To succeed in this record breaking attempt, the teams will have to work together to cover 9,500 meters of ascent through some of the toughest trails around while dealing with unpredictable weather conditions.

All eleven athletes participating in "Race the Sun" will be outfitted in the top trail running footwear and apparel including the Asics GEL-FujiTrabuco 3 Neutral shoe and ASICS FujiTrail apparel collection.
