In January 2014, one of the most popular high performance Asics stability shoes (the Gel DS Trainer) is scheduled to get an upgrade—great news for runners looking for a do-it-all shoe in time to tackle those New Year’s resolutions.
In terms of design, Asics has given the Gel DS Trainer 19 a more modest upper compared to the striped Black/Yellow on the 18. But it does feature a more open mesh construction for breathability, as well as fewer overlays for improved comfort.
Under the hood, the DS Trainer 19 retains the same platform that has made the shoe such a hit amongst elite runners. This includes an Impact Guidance System for gait efficiency, Guidance Line technology for flexibility, along with a dual density DuoMax midsole for exceptional cushioning and responsiveness.
While the official release date for the shoe has yet to be announced, the suggested retail price should come in around the $120 mark.
