The Asics GEL-Kayano series is one of the most anticipated sneaker releases in the running world year in, year out. As the Kayano gets set to enter its 20th iteration, this year is no different.
Runners will be pleased to know that the core features of the Kayano series—features like the Impact Guidance System to enhance the foot’s natural gait, GEL cushioning units in both the heel and forefoot for impact protection, and the DuoMax dual density midsole system for comfort and stability—still remain in the upcoming model. However, Asics had decided to introduce a thin webbing of overlays along the sidewalls of the Kayano 20 in place of the Biomorphic Fit upper seen in previous versions.
To celebrate the shoe’s two decades of continuing success, Asics will roll out special edition colorways of the Kayano 20. As of now, the shoe is scheduled for an October 2013 release, and will be priced at $160.
