Brooks is looking to connect runners worldwide with the launch of their new Run Happy campaign. In partnership with social fitness company MapMyFitness and the MapMyRun app, the Run Happy Group is a virtual gathering place for runners to share their experiences.

So, how does it work? By logging runs in the MapMyRun app, users are then able to share and rate the quality of their run. Whether you "Crushed Goals," "Kicked Butt," "Took it Easy," or "Finished with a Smile," you'll be able to express your progress through the interactive channel. This helps to build up a community of peers, motivating and pushing each other towards individual fitness achievements.

“Runners tell us that, after health and fitness, the No. 1 reason they run – and the most common reason they continue to run – is for fun and enjoyment. We created the Run Happy Group to give runners a place to share those fun experiences and to be a source of inspiration for each other. As the leading online community of runners, MapMyFitness was the perfect partner to bring this community to life," said Global Brand Senior Director Heather Snavely.

Furthering the sense of community, the Run Happy Group also puts an emphasis on local groups. Once users have joined Run Happy, they'll be able to link up to community groups run by local specialty running shops. This promises to keep runners up to date with new routes, events, and store discounts.

Pick up the MapMyRun app today on iOS, Android, and Blackberry phones, and  join the Run Happy Group here.
