If your high school track and field or cross country coach goes above and beyond the norms to do an outstanding job, you'll want to nominate them for the Brooks Inspiring Coaches award. Brooks established the award in 2011 after they heard about coaches volunteering free time, coming out of their own pockets for team expenses, and using running as a motivational tool to inspire athletic and personal greatness.
Instead of letting these inspirational figures go unnoticed, Brooks encouraged athletes, parents, and school faculty to contribute stories about the extraordinary coaches in their communities. The 25 finalists in the competition will receive $5000 in Brooks footwear, apparel, and accessories for their team, $500 cash for extra team expenses, and membership to the Brooks Inspire Daily program. Meanwhile, the winner chosen as the 2013 Inspiring Coach of the Year will not only receive the free Brooks gear and additional expense coverage, but a trip for two to the 2014 Brooks PR Invitational.
