People are always looking for the quickest way to one up the competition. Sometimes those things can be so unconventional, you begin to question it. Imagine this: You are getting ready to hit the gym or prepping for that 4 mile morning run and you are looking for a boost to get you ready. Instead of drinking that energy drink or a pre-workout, you spray yourself in the neck, with caffeine.  Sounds ridiculous, doesn't it?

Two recreational runners/ entrepreneurs, Ben Yu and Deven Soni, are releasing a topical spray on caffeine that they are calling Sprayable Energy. The product is applied like perfume and absorbed through the skin. With the recommended dosage of four sprays, you can get the same amount of energy from downing a morning coffee, but slower. Ok, let’s catch you up: Sprayable Energy—like a cup of coffee—absorbed through the skin, slowly. Can the body really absorb caffeine through your skin?

It would be easy to sense that this product is hard to believe. But there are many products out there that survive off the placebo effect. However, can you get out of that spray can what you can get out of that trip to Starbucks (like antioxidants and potassium)? There is only one way to find out. Sprayable Energy will be available via the company website and in select markets in November. Until then, can I get a Grande, decaf, extra-hot soy with a double shot of espresso please?
