The very idea that Charles Woodson is even playing in the NFL is a bit mystical in and of itself, but him playing a pair of special edition Air Jordan cleats, an opportunity he’s been afforded since 1998? That’s still cool, no matter how long he’s been in the league.

Back with the Oakland Raiders and playing against the San Diego Chargers last Sunday, Woodson wore the cleated version of the famed and celebrated Air Jordan 12 Retro in an all-black, low-cut style that is anything but old as far as the application is concerned.

Highlighted with patent leather over the Japanese rising sun design with a single set of metal lace loops on each shoe, the Charles Woodson player exclusive shoe is one of the best styles since on the gridiron in this particular design. As is customary with both the basketball and football version of the Air Jordan 12 Retro, Zoom Air is featured in full-length form and above the sole (or in Woodson’s instance, the cleat plate).

It’s doubtful that these will ever be released, but Jordan Brand has on rare occasion made the football versions of past basketball models available for public consumption, but stay tuned to Sneaker Report in the future for news on possible releases.
