Danny Salazar Had a Terrific Debut in the Under Armour Heater IV

23-year-old Danny Salazar spent the beginning of the season pitching in the minors for the Columbus Clippers, and yesterday he made his professional debut with the Cleveland Indians. Getting the big call up could make some players nervous and shaky, but Salazar looked like a hardened pro on the mound against the Blue Jays.

In six innings, Salazar struck out seven batters and only allowed two hits and one run. The Indians ended up with an important 4-2 win over Toronto, with Asdrubal Cabrera adding a 388 foot homer in the first inning. Salazar’s outstanding debut impressed the managers for both squads, leaving Toronto’s John Gibbons at a loss for words: “We couldn’t do anything with Salazar. He’s got a great arm. I tip my hat to the young kid,” said the Blue Jays manager. Cleveland manager Terry Francona added, “He was terrific. That can be what he is. The kid has special stuff. We think the kid has a very bright future.” Salazar’s debut was a one-time call up, but it sounds like he’ll be a mainstay in Cleveland before long.

Salazar chose the Under Armour Heater IV for his debut. The Heater IV is built with a durable nubuck and leather upper, and features full-length Micro G cushioning for responsiveness on the field. Its 4D foam collar provides comfortable support, while UA Fang cleats are configured with Rotational Traction technology for speed. Pick up the Under Armour Heater IV today for $54.
