Thanks to a roaring performance from Diana Tuarasi, the Phoenix Mercury became the first team to beat the Los Angeles Sparks at home this season. Last night's game was was a close one, but Phoenix held it together in the second and third quarters, building a lead that they were able to carry over to the buzzer on their way to picking up a 90-84 win.

Candace Parker did all she could for Los Angeles with 25 points and 14 rebounds, but Phoenix proved to be too much for the 11-5 Sparks. The Mercury were led by a huge night from veteran guard Diana Taurasi, who had 32 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, and a steal. After the game, Taurasi spoke on the win, which ended Phoenix's three-game losing streak, and the emotion she felt playing in her home town: "I think it was more important to break our streak of three in a row. They're a really, really good team, especially at home. I think it was more of a big thing for us. This is my home city. I grew up out there. I grew up going to Staples and watching Lisa (Leslie). This is where I played my basketball for 18 years. I still live here. My parents live here. All my family lives here. When I come here, it feels good."

Taurasi was previously gifted a pair of LeBron X PEs, and now it looks like she's unveiled yet another exclusive colorway. Pictured above in a Nike iD mock-up, this Mercury colorway is as hot as they come. The LeBron X features a durable Hyperfuse construction with Flywire for support, while visible Zoom Air cushioning adds a responsive court feel. Pick them up today on sale for $144.
