Ezekiel Kemboi Takes Gold in Men’s Steeplechase at World Championships

The great Ezekiel Kemboi has done it again. He came off last year’s Steeplechase with Gold and continues his dominance today with Gold under his belt. Kenya as always is dominant in the sport as the pull in Gold and Silver in this event. His rival Mahiedine Mekhissi was no match for Kemboi’s speed tenacity only taking the Bronze. This win gives Ezekiel Kemboi his 19th medal in the event and 9th Gold medal. With this third Gold medal in a row, Kemboi is looking to take Gold in Rio next year. Upon winning, Ezekiel lifted up his shirt revealing a message to who he dedicated his win to and his love for his country of Kenya.

Like the previous years, Ezekiel Kemboi has worked his magic in a Nike runner. His Nike shoes have certainly served its purpose as he has won a medal every year since 2005 making him and Kenya the most dominant in the sport. Yesterday we tried to predict if the Kenyan team was going to take the top spots like in 2004, however they didn’t as Kemboi’s teammate Paul Kipsiele Koech missed the podium by less than a second. Stay here at Sneaker Report as we bring you more from the games.
