Earlier this month we gave you a sneak peek at the upcoming release of the Asics GEL-Nimbus 15. Well, if you’re a fan of the popular cushioned running sneaker series, you’ll be glad to know that there’s yet another version of it set to release this year, the GEL-Nimbus 15 Lite.
In performance terms, the Lite is virtually identical to the standard GEL-Nimbus 15. This includes the Asics Impact Guidance System for gait efficiency, along with GEL cushioning units in both the heel and forefoot for a bouncy, impact resistant ride. What sets the limited edition Lite model apart from the standard one is its eye-catching neon yellow paint job, which is actually a combination of reflective and glow-in-the-dark material that will light up the trail even on the darkest of nights. There’s no word yet whether the Nimbus Lite is actually lighter in weight than the standard Nimbus 15. However we all know now that it is the more flashy option, so if you’re into that sort of thing, you’ll have options this Fall.
Unlike the GEL-Nimbus 15, which will make its debut in April, the GEL-Nimbus 15 Lite won’t be available to the general consumer until August 1, 2013. The shoe will be priced at $150.
