While the Nike KD V was initially released in a mid-top silhouette, Kevin Durant has been lacing up in the low-cut Elite model of his signature shoe. And by the looks of it, it looks like he isn’t ready to make the switch back to the mid anytime soon. Today, we get a first glimpse the next iteration of Durant’s signature shoe, the KD VI.

Along with an ankle-cut design, the KD VI is loaded with performance tech like a Phylon midsole, Zoom unit in the forefoot, and a 180-degree Air unit in the heel. As expected, the shoe is Flywire-enabled for flexible support. The shoe’s tongue and lacing system look like something right out of a soccer cleat catalog.

Not only is the KD VI getting a boost in performance, but the shoe will also feature a heftier price tag of $130 (a little steep compared to past KD models). Available July 2013.
