The award-winning GEL-Kayano series from Asics is set for an even stronger return in Spring 2013 with the release of the latest edition, the Kayano 19 running sneakers.

So how exactly do you improve on a shoe that is already one of the top performers on the market? Because apparently Asics “Stops at Never.” With that in mind, the popular running brand found ways to make an elite shoe, even better. Weighing in at 10.9 ounces, the 19 is the lightest GEL-Kayano ever. The sneaker is over a half ounce lighter than its predessor. Continuing with the theme of weight reduction, the upper on the shoe is made from a new lightweight stretch material for a more custom fit. Also new to the shoe is the Asics Guidance Trusstic System, which is designed to improve gait consistency. Rounding out the high-performing race day sneaker is a redesigned Personal Heel Fit (P.H.F.) system that consists of two layers of memory foam that provide exceptional support and stability.

The GEL-Kayano 19 will be available at specialty stores on November 1st, with a nationwide drop set for January 2013. The expected price tag is $150.
