Although no official release date or details have been set for the Nike Kobe VIII, today brings a first glimpse at the much anticipated low-top.
It's hard to say exactly what technology will be included in the sneaker, but the images give us a few hints. The upper seems to feature Engineered Mesh, which Nike is going to be utilizing on a number of models in 2013. The popular heel cup returns, as well as what appears to be some sort of Lunar/Zoom cushioning set up. Doing away with last year's "System" concept, the VIII includes a removable insole.
Though his team is suffering, Kobe's already averaged 27.2 points and 5 rebounds a game in his previous model. Will the VIII cause a significant improvement in his game as he powers through yet another season?
