It’s hard to imagine how the No. 2 running sneaker of all time could possibly be improved upon, but we here at Sneaker Report are confident that Saucony has found a way. Set for a May 2013 release, the Kinvara series will be back with the fourth edition of the popular neutral running sneaker with some minor performance tweaks.

While the official weight of the Kinvara 4 hasn’t been announced yet, we’re expecting it to be around the same 7-ounce range as the 3. Runners will see an upgraded PowerGrid heel insert for improved cushioning. The FlexFlim overlays on the upper of the shoe have been adjusted for increased breathability and an even more streamlined fit. The sneaker’s outsole will remain the same as it’s current predecessor—with triangular lugs that provide impact resistance and traction.

Official drop date for the Kinvara 4 is May 1, 2013. Look out for our performance review.
