Keen's lightweight, minimal approach to a trail runner results in one of the most comfortable shoe we've ever worn. Made of an ultra-light synthetic and mesh material, the A86TR is a breathable, summer-friendly option for anyone looking to hit the trail.

With its unique zig-zagged lace-up front and sleek look, the A86 is also one of the sweetest looking shoes Sneaker Report has come across. Beneath the head-turning design of this off-road runner is a cavalry of high-performance technology. The shoe features a compression mold PU midsole and a removable EVA footbed for maximum comfort and support. With a non-marking rubber outsole comprised of 3MM multidirectional traction lugs, Keen didn’t hold back in making this monster of a trail runner.

Our reviewers were elated at the fact that the A86TR felt like it was ready to ride straight out of the box. The shoes feel like they have multiple gears, giving runners the ability to transition from flat to uneven terrain in the blink of an eye. While they aren’t necessarily waterproof, thanks to the light mesh upper and the exceptional outsole, the shoes dry fairly quickly and keep feet planted firmly on the ground. Moreover, the reinforced toe calls for a sense of added support. Running in these feels as if the shoes are an extension of your body- something any seasoned runner can appreciate.
