The Health and Wellness Expo kicked off at the Javits Convention Center in Manhattan yesterday to prepare for Sunday’s 42nd annual ING NYC Marathon.

While yesterday’s crowd seemed a little leaner than past years due to Hurricane Sandy, brands that make running a full-time job showed up to support and inspire runners with an impressive spread of sneakers, gear, and gadgets you never knew you needed. Asics, the event’s sponsor, took up most of the floor with a men’s and women’s marathon-exclusive colorway of the GT-2000, New Balance rev’ed up the 860.v3 in a 5 borough tribute sneaker, while Mizuno used the moment to show off the newly-released 16th generation of the Wave Rider.

Even if you aren’t bound for the starting line this weekend, Sneaker Report rounded up the coolest kicks from the Expo so you can start dreaming about running or not running next year’s race.
