Last night, the Washington Nationals came to Queens to take on the New York Mets. The Mets have struggled all year long and their as they were shut out against the Nationals.

National’s pitcher, Gio Gonzalez almost pitched a no hitter last night. It wasn’t till Zach Lutz swong at the first pitch of the seventh inning, slicing the ball up the first baseline, that added the Mets first hit to the board. Still, Gonzalez stayed on point and left-hander closed out this near perfect game. "It was a great performance," Nationals manager Davey Johnson said. "He was throwing everything over -- change, curve, fastball. It was fun to watch." The Nationals hit five home runs during this lopsided game, including long balls by their first two batters to defeat the outmatched Mets 9-0.

Gio Gonzalez sailed through this dominant outing in the Jordan Black Cat Metal Cleat. The Black Cat Metal combines a mesh and synthetic upper to keep your feet cool and comfortable all game long with maximum breathability and support. Added support is brought in with the ankle strap, giving you customizable lockdown. The Black Cat also features a high density Phylon midsole giving the maximum support to keep you on your game.

You will not find Gio’s custom version of these but if you head to Eastbay, you can pick up these cleats for $90. Keep it locked at Sneaker Report as we bring you more from the diamond.
