With USA down 0-2 going into halftime, Jozy Altidore decided it was time to put the team on his shoulders, as the 23-year-old striker put three second-half goals in the back of the net to give his team the come-from-behind win against Bosnia and Herzegovina, 4-3.
Laced up in a pair of Orange adidas adiZero F50 TRX cleats, Altidore recorded a hat-trick for the record books, helping the US record its first-ever comeback win on European soil.
Altidore has been on fire as of late, recording at least one goal in five straight matches for a total of seven. The US men’s national team will continue to rely on Jozy’s hot foot as the team gets set to cement its place in Rio 2014 with the upcoming World Cup Qualification. Up next for the group-leading US squad is an away match against Costa Rica on September 6, 2013.
