KNOW YOUR TECH breaks down the scientific technology used in your favorite sneakers and activewear. Let’s demystify your next purchase: today’s technology is adidas Puremotion+. An enhanced version of the brand's flexible Puremotion technology, the updated adidas Puremotion+ midsole has been the driving force behind some of the brand's top basketball models, including the Adipure Crazyquick and the Rose 773 2. Mr. Basketball USA 2013 himself, Andrew Wiggins of Kansas, was recently spotted in an exhibition game taking advantage of the adidas Puremotion+ technology in the Rose 773 2. With the season officially tipping off tomorrow night, you can expect to see Wiggins and his Jayhawks teammates continuing to wear models equipped with adidas Puremotion+.

What is it? adidas Puremotion+ is a molded and articulated EVA midsole. The adidas Adipure Crazyquick basketball model made use of feedback from the brand's Facebook fans, who voiced that they'd rather feel "quick" than "fast" on the court. One of the key components in achieving this is adidas Puremotion+ technology.

How does it work? In all, the adidas Puremotion+ system features 17 individual rubber pods which work in unison with the midsole to deliver a flexible, natural feel on the court. As a result, sharp cuts and transitions are more precise and efficient.

Notable products: adidas Adipure Crazyquick, adidas Rose 773 2

Bottom line: Ideal for guards and speedy forwards, adidas Puremotion+ is used by some of the best in the game.
