KNOW YOUR TECH breaks down the scientific technology used in your favorite sneakers and activewear. Let’s demystify your next purchase: today’s technology is Saucony Comfortemp. This innovative upper technology has only been utilized in two of Saucony's running models, the ProGrid Paramount 2 and the ProGrid Paramount 3, however it remains one of the most cutting edge technologies around.

What is it? An upper material which monitors the heat and cold of the wearer's foot and adjusts accordingly to keep the feet at a comfortable temperature.

How does it work? As the temperature of the wearer's feet fluctuates due to activity and the surrounding environment, Saucony Comfortemp technology activates and keeps the feet at a steady measurement of 82 degrees. This means that the coldest and hottest of days won't affect Saucony Comfortemp technology, allowing for a consistent, comfortable temperature throughout use.

Notable products: Saucony ProGrid Paramount 3

Bottom line: While Saucony Comfortemp technology has yet to be utilized on a wide range of products, it will be interesting to see what the brand does next with this temperature-regulating upper. For now, try out the Saucony ProGrid Paramount 3 for a truly unique experience.
