Swiss alpine brand Mammut is expanding its reach in the trail-running footwear category this Spring with the introduction of the MTR141 sneaker.

The rugged MTR141 is designed to tackle the toughest of terrains, making it ideal for mountain trail running. Oddly enough, the MTR141 isn’t waterproof. However, there is a GTX (GORE-TEX) version of the shoe available for those who are heading up wet terrain.

Despite a light and surprisingly comfortable construction, the MTR141 is loaded with performance technologies that work together to provide runners with the correct amount of support and protection. This includes an abrasion-resistant 3-D polyamide fabric, with a 3-layer hybrid shell for added security. The shoe features an injected EVA IP wedge in the midsole, along with a VENtech lining at the forefoot for wicking sweat and keeping unwanted moisture out. Rounding out this innovative alpine performer is a Griptex Sonar outsole, which features an unique tread pattern specifically designed to hug rocks and boulders.
