Last night, the Cleveland Indians and the Detroit Tigers played a close game until the top of the 9th-inning. With bases loaded Miles Alvies knocked down a grand slam home run, breaking the tie and giving Cleveland the win.

According to reports, Alvies wasn’t looking for the grand slam. With bases loaded, he was looking to get a runner in just to break the tie and finally get the Indian's on the board. "I was hoping Infante was going to catch that ball, and I was hoping that Torii (Hunter) was going to catch the next one. Both of them would have had really tough throws to make."  Until this game, the Indians had struggled on the road and were on the verge of losing their 6th straight game away from home. Alvies' shot tallied all the runs scored in the game as the Indians took the contest 4-0.

Alvies wore the Nike Air Huarache 2k4 when he clutched out this grand slam. The Huarache 2k4 has a basketball presence in the form of a baseball cleat. The cleat comes equipped with full-length air cushioning and a sturdy heel clip for superior lockdown. Take to the mound in this quality cleat at retailers such as Eastbay for $60.

With the playoffs not far in the distance, it is mad scramble for teams to finish strong. Despite the Tiger’s loss they still have a 7 1/2-game cushion for the AL Central title. Let’s see if they can hang on. Keep it locked at Sneaker Report for more from the MLB.
