Along with updates to existing running shoes, Mizuno is expected to roll out entirely new models for 2014, and included is the Wave Paradox seen above.

Like the Wave Hitogami—another all-new Mizuno model that will replace the Musha and Ronin—the Wave Paradox will replaces the dated Alchemy series in the neutral running category. The shoe features a Japanese-inspired upper design similar to the Wave Sayonara, which consists of straight lines paying tribute to traditional Japanese drawing technique.

At 10.6 ounces, the Paradox is expected to be one of the lightest maximum support running shoes in the 2014 lineup. The shoe features Mizuno’s new U4ic midsole for lightweight cushioning, and also comes loaded with a Fan Wave plate that helps reduce overpronation.

With a price set at $135, the Mizuno Wave Paradox will hit retail shelves in January 2014.
