With its sights set on the future, AS Monaco has decided to drop former kit supplier Macron in lieu of a new partnership agreement with Nike.

Starting with the 2014-15 season, Eric Abidal, Layvin Kurzawa and the rest of the squad will hit the pitch in a more streamlined version of AS Monaco’s famous red/white kit from 1960-61. As a tribute to that ‘60s team, Monaco will revert back to the classic dual-white-sleeve design. The kit also includes a more modern red polo neck collar to symbolize the new era of the club. The team’s emblem and other branding have also been brought up to par.

As technical as they are visually pleasing, the new AS Monaco kits are constructed using Nike Dri-Fit fabric to help keep players cool and comfortable throughout the entirety of the match (and beyond). Laser-cut ventilation holes on the sides, paired with strategically placed mesh panels, have been added to help regulate body temperature.

Rumor has it that Nike’s new generation of soccer uniforms will have improved fit. To achieve this, the Swoosh took 3D body scans of some of the top players in the world to create a kit that fits more naturally and effortlessly with the body.

In addition to the shirts and shorts, AS Monaco’s latest kit will include Nike Elite Match fit socks and a Nike Pro Baselayer.
