Rafael Nadal continued his U.S. Open momentum yesterday evening as he breezed past Tommy Robredo in a seemingly effortless win. Nadal played tremendously as he defeated his fellow Spaniard in straight sets, 6-0, 6-2, 6-2. The win came after an hour and 40 minutes of Nadal's domination, and now the 2010 U.S. Open winner advances to the semifinals on Saturday where he'll meet Richard Gasquet, who downed David Ferrer after five sets yesterday. If history's any indication, this one should play out in Nadal's favor, as he's won all ten of their previous tour meetings.

"I think I played my best match at the U.S. Open this year. Great to be able to play your best match in the quarterfinals. Playing a little better every day is a great feeling," Nadal told the Associated Press after the match. With the way he's been playing and his optimistic outlook, it shouldn't come as a surprise if Nadal makes a run for the title.

After wearing a colorful version of the Nike Air Courtballistec 4.3 earlier in the tournament, Nadal opted for an all-black variation of the model for his hard court match today. The Nike Air Courtballistec 4.3 features durable Drag-On 2x overlays for long-lasting abrasion protection and uses both Air Max and Lunarlon technologies for a balanced cushion setup.
