June 4 marks National Running Day, and to celebrate the event New Balance is teaming up with Westin Hotels & Resorts for vending machine to promote an active lifestyle.
Yes, you read that correctly, a fitness vending machine. New Balance is attacking the current problem of unhealthy snacks flooding our vending machines, and is bringing a fitness based machine to NYC to encourage people to step away from their desk and go for a run. The Westin New Balance gear-vending machine will be located outside the Westin New York Grand Central 42nd Street (between 2nd and 3rd Avenues) beginning at 8:30am on June 4. Those who visit the vending machine will be designated a hashtag that gives you the chance to win New Balance shirts, sneakers and more so you can tackle that run with ease.
A little bizarre? Yes, but anything that promotes a healthy lifestyle and gives the opportunity to win free sneakers....sounds like an ok deal to us. Be sure to go check out the vending machine June 4, and keep it locked for pictures when the event kicks off.
