New Balance’s already popular Minimus series is set to gain more star power this Spring with the introduction of the Minimus 1690 running sneaker.

Featuring a low to the ground ride, the 1690 is a great lightweight shoe option for runners as we continue the transition to warmer months. The sneaker’s seamless mesh upper offers the perfect mix of comfort and breathability, making socks optional. Despite its minimal status, the 1690 is armed with a full length REVlite midsole, along with a lugged rubber outsole, in case you prefer to run on the beaten path rather than the paved one.

With a price tag of $90, the release date for the NB Minimus 1690 is set for July 2013. We’ll have more on the Minimus Spring collection shortly.
