Nike and Manchester United are scheduled to have a sit down in the coming months to discuss extending the current sponsorship between the American sportswear giant and arguably the most popular soccer club in the world.

It won’t be an easy task for Nike, as it gets ready to try and convince ManU execs to extend their roughly $368 million deal. Nike will likely have to dish out a much larger sum of cash if it hopes to keep its Swoosh logo on the legendary club’s kits. Especially after the $455 million deal United signed with General Motors back in July to display the Chevrolet logo on their kits through 2014, there’s no question Nike will have to up the ante in this one if it hopes to score with the most valuable sports team in the world.

Stay tuned for updates on the deal.
