Nike's been hard at work with the Kobe 9 over the last few months, squeezing in a new colorway almost every week. Most models we've seen have used the low-cut Kobe 9 EM, and today we get our first look at another colorway that appears to draw some inspiration from a fellow Nike member.

The Kobe 9 EM "Dusty Cactus" is the latest colorway to surface from the line, but it looks to draw some inspiration from the popular South Beach line from the LeBron series. The shoes feature the same blue/green colorway that the South Beach models don, but instead of pink as accents, Nike opted for more of a red look to cover the Flywire and inner lining. The biggest standout of the shoe is along the tongue, where the typical logo was replaced by a patch that features all of Kobe's logo, some accolades and his "Black Mamba" nickname. While the shoe's are different from the South Beach line, it's clear there was some inspiration for using the color scheme.

The Kobe 9 EM "Dusty Cactus" is scheduled to drop October 3, but it seems the specialized tongue is causing a price increase, and these will hit retail for $175.
