Although Megatron Calvin Johnson isn't exactly a dual-sport star, this is the next best thing. The Lions wide receiver has made a serious impact in the NFL, and his latest Nike signature release is likely to bring back memories of Bo Jackson and Deion Sanders-endorsed models.

The latest addition to the Nike CJ81 Trainer Max line pays tribute to Johnson's current state of residence, although it's not the Lions-inspired affair you may be expecting. Instead, this makeup of the CJ81 Trainer Max pays homage to the Detroit Tigers, appropriately outfitted in a wolf grey and team orange color scheme with baseball seam stitching used throughout the collar. This special release is currently available at Social Status boutiques, which are located in North Carolina and Pittsburgh.

The Nike CJ81 Trainer Max continues Nike's recent output of signature trainer models which began last year with the Zoom Revis Trainer. Although these signature models may be reminiscent of the '90s cross-trainer heyday, the technology involved is leaps and bounds beyond the models worn by Jackson and Primetime.

Megatron's CJ81 Trainer Max model is built with a Natural Motion upper and a full-length inner sleeve for glove-like lockdown, while a midfoot strap adds further support. The CJ81 Trainer Max is cushioned by a full-length Phylon midsole and a heel Max Air unit, while the outsole utilizes a Diamond Flex design for optimum traction.
