Nike Debuts the Revolutionary Vapor Laser Talon Cleat

In the history of the sport, there has never been a football cleat constructed using 3D printing technology—that is, until now. Behold, the latest genius from Nike, the Vapor Laser Talon.

Built to “master the 40,” the Vapor Laser Talon looks to be the fastest gridiron cleat Nike has ever put out. The cleat weighs an incredible 5.6 ounces, ands use a state-of-the-art 3D printed plate designed to achieve never-before-seen speed.

The Laser Talon looks more like a track spike than a football cleat, and it’s no wonder—Nike used insight from Olympic gold medal sprinter Michael Johnson in order to determine what the cleat should entail in terms of design and performance.

“Nike’s new 3D printed plate is contoured to allow football athletes to maintain their drive position longer and more efficiently, helping them accelerate faster through the critical first 10 yards of the 40” said Johnson. “Translated to the game of football, mastering the Zero Step can mean the difference between a defensive lineman sacking the quarterback or getting blocked.”

More to come on the Vapor Laser Talon through the offseason.
