Nike Draws Inspiration From Classic Music For Two New Kobe 9 Elite Low Colorways

Since Kobe joined on with Nike, his signature sneakers have been a canvas of performance innovation for the Swoosh. His demand greatness has brought countless revolutions to basketball footwear, with the Kobe 9 leading the pack. Today, Nike debuted two new colorways that were inspired by Kobe’s muses.

The Kobe 9 Elite Low “Beethoven” pays homage to the most prolific composer of all time, and actually gives some insight onto the recent Kobe piano commercial. The all grey colorway represents Beehoven’s timeless quality, and most importantly his Ninth Symphony from the early 1800′s, which many consider one of the greatest ever written. The Kobe 9 Elite Low Hyper Grape draws inspiration from music and it’s ability to move and inspire people through the decades, which is what the Black Mamba hopes to do with his game on court. The sneaker comes with a purple upper that pays homage to pop music and includes a moon surface graphic on the outsole, which some are calling the “Michael Jackson” colorway.

As usual, the Kobe 9 Elite Low features all the tech you could ask for including the fully Flyknit upper for a lightweight, breathable feel. Nike also incorporated Flywire cables for a more natural, locked-down fit, and Lunarlon technology to aid in comfort and cushioning.

The Kobe 9 Elite Low Hyper Grape releases on July 12, while the Kobe 9 Elite Low Beethoven debuts August 16 both at Nike and select retail locations.
