On the outside, the Nike GS 2 boot is one of the sexiest looking soccer cleats perhaps ever designed. Under the hood, well the story is pretty much the same there too—the fine-tuned performance specs of the GS 2 make it a well-rounded, fine-tuned slayer of the soccer pitch.

Perhaps even more impressive than the final product, though, is the process in which the GS 2 was engineered. In the recent years, Nike has made it a point to produce earth-friendly performance gear by way of using recycled materials to truly test the limits of innovation both on and off the field. Case and point the traction plate and chassis of the GS2, which is made from renewable castor beans. And what better way to explain the process than to do it in illustration form.
