It looks like the University of Oregon Ducks aren’t the only ones getting the regional hookup from Beaverton (Ore.)-based Nike.

Beaverton’s Aloha High School recently became the newest Nike guinea pigs when it received customized Vapor Talon Elite for beta-testing during the remainder of the football season. Hoping to test a new dye that is being used to paint the cleats, Nike will allow Aloha players to wear the cleats through the course of the state playoffs. Unfortunately, once their playoff run is over, the team will have to return the kicks—which is pretty reasonable considering they were given to the team free of charge. Last time Nike did a similar project with a high school team (Lake Oswego), it went on to win the state championship.
