Today Nike unveiled four running technologies today at an innovation summit at their Portland, Oregon world headquarters. Along with the aforementioned Nike Free Flyknit+ and Free Hyperfeel running shoes, the brand unveiled the Aeroloft and the Dri-FIT Knit apparel to enhance the running experience.

Nike is on an on-going mission to enhance runners’ natural abilities by putting more focus on the human body in natural motion. The result, two new pieces of running footwear— the Nike Free Flyknit and the Nike Free Hyperfeel—designed to feel like an extension of the body. The Free Flyknit pairs two of Nike’s most innovative footwear technologies (a knitted upper and a flexible Free outsole) to create a high performance running shoe. The Flyknit upper offers a second-skin fit, with both support and flexibility built right in. The Free Hyperfeel also features a flexible free outsole, but has an additional Lunarlon layer for responsive cushioning.

Nike Aeroloft technology is utilized in an ultra-light Nike Aeroloft 800 Vest, designed with insulation and ventilation concepts in mind to help athletes stay cool and dry. Along a similar vein, Dri-FIT Knit is an ultra-soft, lightweight fabric made to keep athletes at their optimal temperature with sufficient breathability thanks to diverse knit patterns.

"Innovation is not about creating for its own sake, it's about creating something better, designing with a purpose. Running is the heart and sole of Nike and it's the birthplace of a constant stream of new innovations that will drive the company forward," said Mark Parker, President & CEO of Nike, Inc.

Nike shares that it is focused today on challenging the boundaries of nature with their newest footwear and apparel, going back to the brand's running roots. Working towards building products that work with the human body, the Swoosh demonstrates how they work to understand the science of the athlete, design for the body in motion, and simplify without compromise.
