Nike Unveils the Megatron Rises 3-Pack for Calvin Johnson

Regardless of what Dez Bryant thinks, there’s no question Calvin “Megatron” Johnson is the best wide receiver currently in the NFL. And what does one of the most dominating forces on the football field deserve? How about some special edition footwear from none other than Nike.

While Johnson already has a signature shoe line with the Swoosh, Nike has taken the CJ81 collection to a whole new level (or planet). Inspired by Calvin’s “Megatron” persona, Nike has rolled out a special edition CJ81 Megatron Trainer Max clad in a purple armored look that is sure to get the seal of approval from any Transformers fan. The shoe comes complete with a metallic silver heel that features the classic Transformers grid pattern, and the iconic Decepticon logo at the center. Under the forefoot strap, Johnson’s favorite Megatron quote, “Show no mercy,” appears as a reminder for #81 to continue to play at the highest level.

The CJ81 Megatron Trainer Max is part of a trio of special edition Megatron-inspired shoes launched by Nike. The Megatron Rises 3-Pack also includes the Megatron Nike Air Trainer SC II and the CJ81 Megatron Elite TD Cleat—both of which feature a variation of Transformers-themed designs. Best of all, Nike has teamed up with Hasbro to include a Transformers Megatron action figure with the shoe pack.

Nike is expected to release 81 Megatron Rises Packs exclusively at 21 Mercer in NYC, select Nike Yardline stores, as well as Nike.com. The CJ81 Megatron Trainer Max and the Megatron Nike Air Trainer SC II will be available at select Nike retailers, as well as on the Nike website.
