The Nike Zoom KD IV embodies everything NBA superstar Kevin Durant is and hopes to be both on and off the court. KD's signature shoe is designed to cater to his all-around skills, as well as his dynamic personality.

Like most basketball kicks, the KD IVs are built around comfort and support. However, what sets them apart from the competition is the Adaptive Fit strap used by Nike to allow the Durantula to become one with his sneaker for greater control and range of motion. Though at first Durant was against the idea of having a strap on his shoe, he quick came around after seeing designer Leo Chang's mock-up of the sneaker. As functional as it is visually appealing, the strap across the upper was the perfect solution for someone like Durant, who has a flat arch. To add a personal touch, the kicks are detailed with pieces of Durant's personal life, including the name of his first coach, "Big Chucky," and his home city Seat Pleasant, Maryland.
