On May 30, 2008, Paul Pierce powered the Boston Celtics to a 89-81 win over the Detroit Pistons in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Pierce led the way with 27 points and 8 rebounds, allowing Boston to surpass the Pistons 4-2 in the series. Boston would advance to the NBA Finals against the Los Angeles Lakers, where they would end up winning their first NBA Championship since 1986.
During the 2008 postseason, Pierce wore the Nike Air Max P2 IV. Loaded with Air Max cushioning, the model proved to be elusive to players and fans looking to emulate Pierce's show-stealing game. Pierce's Nike signature line was only available in kid's sizes, which was a puzzling move as they would have undoubtedly been a hit. If they ever receive the retro treatment from Nike Sportswear, we'll definitely have our fingers crossed for full size runs.
